The historic three story 17,910 Sq. Ft. Merchants Building located at 401 Broadway was constructed in the 1870's, opening its doors as the Merchants Hotel in 1892. The building was completely renovated in the 1980's and opened as the Merchants Restaurant in 1988.

Recently acquired by Ben and Max Goldberg of Strategic Hospitality, Merchants Restaurant underwent a 3-month rennovation and was relaunched, offering a new and dynamic menu in a stylish new setting. The first floor offers a more casual dining experience, clad in a black and white herringbone theme, and is open for lunch and dinner. The second floor has been transformed into a sleek and cozy dining area that offers a more intimate experience and a seven course chef's tasting menu. The third floor is available for private events.
