About Us

Formed in 1989, Tower Investments, LLC is a real estate investment and development company owned by six members of the Stephen Marks Sr. family and employees. Headquartered in Northern California, Tower invests its own capital and self-manages a diverse portfolio of real estate and debt instruments secured by real estate throughout the United States.

Tower employs a team of professionals and consultants experienced in real estate development, planning and design, construction management, equity investments, project finance, leasing, and management. Tower integrates these talents into a project team from development to occupancy.

Tower's principals are directly involved in day-to-day operations and project management. Tower maintains ownership of all projects and its principals are accountable for all decisions.

Stephen Marks, Sr.

President & CEO

Mr. Marks is the majority owner of Tower Investments, which he founded in 1991 with his wife and children. Mr. Marks has been self-employed since 1977 and has owned residential, commercial, industrial and agriculture real estate. Mr. Marks attended San Jose State University.

Senior Vice President

Mr. Marks has been actively involved in the purchase and sale of real estate and secured receivables for Tower since 1992. Prior to joining Tower, Mr. Marks played professional football in the National Football League and Italian Football League. He also worked as a coach and in team management with the World League of American Football. A graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara, Mr. Marks received his B.A. in Political Science in 1986.
Elizabeth A. Marks

Senior Vice President

Ms. Marks joined Tower Investments in 1995, as a legal consultant. She formerly worked for Willie Brown, Speaker of the California State Assembly, as a legislative consultant. Ms. Marks earned her J.D. from the University of San Francisco in 1991, and practiced as an attorney for three years with the law firm of Gordon & Rees, in San Francisco CA. Ms. Marks is a 1988 graduate of Stanford University, where she majored in Political Science.
Matthew Marks

Senior Vice President

Mr. Marks has over 16 years in the real estate business, starting with Tower Investments in 1991 while attending law school. In 1998, he joined a national office and industrial REIT named Spieker Properties where he handled the development, leasing and management of a 2.5 million square foot Class A office and industrial portfolio. In 2001, Mr. Marks moved to McClellan Park, as the V. P. of Sales and Leasing at the 10 million square foot, 3,000 acre redevelopment of the former McClellan Air Force Base. In three years he oversaw the redevelopment and lease up of over 3 million square feet of office, industrial, retail, high-tech and air-field related uses. Mr. Marks has a law degree from the University Of Northern California and admitted to the California state bar in 1995. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1989 and has been a licensed real estate agent since 1990. Matt is married with 4 kids and lives in Sacramento.
Alexander Marks

Senior Vice President

Mr. Marks oversees several rural and urban residential development projects. Current projects include high-rise condominiums, equestrian communities and master planned communities. Prior to joining Tower, Mr. Marks held sales management positions with several technology companies in the Bay Area, including EMC, CompuServe and Sprint. Mr. Marks earned his B.S. degree from University of Southern California, emphasis in Marketing.
David Marks

Senior Vice President

Mr. Marks oversees several industrial and entertainment projects developments throughout the U.S. Prior to joining Tower in 2004, Mr. Marks practiced medicine at UC Davis Medical Center. Dr. Marks earned a medical degree from Georgetown University and a B.S. in Biology from University of Santa Clara University in 1996.
Chris Welborn

Senior Vice President & CFO

Mr. Welborn performs project and financial management functions for the company. He has over fifteen years finance and operations management experience. Prior to joining Tower, Mr. Welborn co-founded a computer security software company and spent several years as a commercial lender in small and large banking institutions. Mr. Welborn obtained his B.S in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
John W. Pierce

Vice President

Mr. Pierce joined Tower Investments in 2005 after acting as a development partner for the last three years. Prior to joining Tower, Mr. Pierce was the Owner and President of a real estate development and construction company in Southern California specializing in commercial and residential re-development projects. Mr. Pierce is a licensed General Contractor in the State of California with over 25 years experience in the development and construction of both residential and commercial projects throughout California and Nevada. Mr. Pierce earned his J.D. degree from Western State University of Law. Mr. Pierce attended CSUF majoring in business.
